Shad-o-Box X-Ray Cameras The Shad-o-Box x-ray camera is a stand-alone, high-resolution radiation imaging device complete with 12-bit digital interface. The large active area consists of one or more 512 by 1024 pixel photodiode array sensors with 48 µm pixel spacing. An integral phosphor screen shields the sensor from ambient light and converts incident x-rays or energetic particles to visible light that is sensed by the silicon photodiodes. The Shad-o-Box can be used in a wide range of applications including medical diagnostics, industrial inspection (NDT) and scientific imaging. |

Our standard Shad-o-Box cameras have been optimized for the 10 to 50 kV energy range. For applications that require higher energies, the Shad-o-Box EV Series cameras offer improved signal-to-noise ratio and longer lifetime at energies up to 160 kV. These cameras are ideal for applications such as the inspection of welds, castings and circuit boards. Please refer to our Application Note to help you determine which version may be best for your situation. Each Shad-o-Box camera ships with a +5V/+12V or +6.5V desktop power supply and the appropriate power cords. A frame grabber, data cable and software drivers are required in order to interface the camera to a computer. Please contact us for more information on frame grabber options, or to check the latest list of available frame grabbers. The Shad-o-Box product line consists of the following devices:
